Pearl’s most notable 2023 milestones include:

  • New Patents: Pearl cemented the innovation at the core of its technology with a new industry patent for its chairside AI disease detection software, the second patent for its breakthrough Second Opinion® technology. The patent grants Pearl the exclusive rights to the technology system supporting the software’s application programming interface (API). Pearl was also issued a patent granting exclusive rights to the computer vision and analytics system at the core of its pioneering clinical performance software, Practice Intelligence®, bringing the company’s total number of U.S. patents to 12. 
  • Global Expansion: Pearl further solidified its position at the forefront of the dental AI revolution with numerous additional global regulatory authorizations in 2023, including clearances in  IsraelTurkey, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Argentina and Switzerland. Second Opinion® also became the first-and-only AI-based dental pathology detection software to gain Class IIa medical device certification under the updated European Union Medical Device Regulation (EU-MDR), one of the world’s most robust health tech regulations. At the 2023 International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany, Pearl announced plans to expand access to its Practice Intelligence® solution for the European market.
  • Awards and Recognition: Pearl took home three prestigious industry awards recognizing the company’s commitment to technological excellence in both the U.S. and UK dental markets, including a 2023 Cellerant Best of Class Technology Award for the second consecutive year, two  UK Dental Industry Awards for “High Technology Launch of the Year” and “New Product/Service of the Year,” and a Nifty Award for “Favorite Dental AI Company.”

This partnership expands international access to Pearl’s suite of AI solutions, delivering a higher standard of dentistry to patients throughout the EU.

LOG4J vulnerability not applicable to VisiQuick and Facad

There are currently warnings worldwide about security risks in LOG4J software in relation to Apache servers.

Our products VisiQuick and Facad do not suffer from the newly discovered vulnerabilities. The LOG4J tool and Apache servers are not used.

We have released a new version! The release is ready for download on our FTP-site.

Problems fixed

These are some of the problems we fixed. For the full list, see Change History.

  • Extended Linking indicated wrong teeth and PAN/CEPH in the status. For users with a practice management system (PMS), which is using extended linking to display image status in the PMS, the image status is now correct.
  • X-rays with multiple teeth numbers caused status views to ignore the X-ray.
  • The button for adjusting contrast was reset when another image was opened.
  • Sending mails to a mail server requiring SSL/TLS 1.3 did not work.

Thomas Monitor Systems becomes Citodent Imaging B.V.

On November 25, 2019, the legal form of Thomas Monitor Systems was converted into a private company. From that moment the official name has been changed to Citodent Imaging B.V.

Our address and bank account number remain unchanged.

The name and the branding of VisiQuick will remain as it always was!

VisiQuick 4 available for MSSQL database

VisiQuick 4 build 819 is available. This version can work with the classic Paradox database but also with a MSSQL full version database.

Later this year another variant of VisiQuick will be launched: VisiQuick Extended. This includes the following functions:

  • User Roles (linked to Active Directory or Administration system): allows the functions and possibilities within VisiQuick to be assigned to specific user groups.
  • Central configuration and management of X-ray equipment: for practices with multiple locations.
  • Worklist X-ray (Dicom, modality worklist): queue per location or clinic to make X-ray images.
